Immigration and financial planning intersects heavily when dealing with investor visas. Our session will provide an overview of the E-2 investor visa and then delve into the financial planning involved.
ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
We’ll use a case study involving Jean Pierre Luke Francois, a French Baker, who is dreaming of opening a bakery in Austin Texas.
1. Understand the key elements of the Investor Visas and the treaty that makes possible this visa, as well as the nationalities involved.
2. Understand the investments, including the fund sources involved
3. Understand the financial planning opportunities applicable to this situation in addition to the high-level business planning that will lead to success.
The session is a collaboration between a U.S. Immigration Attorney (Jaci Ohayon) and CIGA member financial planner (Jane Mepham, CFP®).
Jane Mepham, CFP® is the founder & principal advisor at Elgon Financial Advisors, a registered investment advisor in the state of Texas. She enjoys simplifying the complexities of the U.S. financial system for immigrants and foreign-born families, including those on work visas.
Jaci Ohayon is originally from Alaska and is the co-founder of Aspire Visa Attorneys. Jaci has lived in several different countries, is married to an immigrant, and is currently in the process of applying for dual citizenship herself. These experiences give her a unique perspective on the challenges immigrants face.
