By Raoul Rodriguez, Experienced CFP® and Chris Emmot, Founding Partner of EBG International.

The speakers will explore both the similarities and the differences for some key planning topics for a handful of countries in the region.

For some reason people often think that because all Latin American countries have similar historical and legal backgrounds, that planning topics must be the same for all. This is not the case!

Learning Objectives:

1. Gain an understanding of the legal and taxation structures of 6 Latin American countries. Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Chile, Peru & Uruguay.

2. Learn about differences in marriage regimens & concepts around forced heirship in the countries under consideration and how that may impact planning.

3. Understand the prevalence and impact of US taxation treaties in Latin America.
